"Urea removal" covers everything from clearing a blocked, crystallised system to physically taking components out. Here's what people actually ask us before booking this specific job.

They overlap but aren't always the same job. A "delete" is specifically a software change that stops the ECU expecting the urea system to work. "Urea removal" more often means physically taking out crystallised, blocked, or contaminated fluid and components the tank, pump, lines, or injector and either replacing them or removing them altogether, which sometimes needs a software change alongside it and sometimes doesn't, depending on what you're trying to achieve. We'll clarify exactly which job you need once we know your vehicle and the reason for asking.
Often, yes. Urea crystallises when the fluid sits unused for long periods, gets contaminated, or a heater fault stops it staying liquid in cold weather. Where it's caught early, we can flush the tank and lines and clean or replace the injector to restore normal operation. If crystallisation has been left long enough to seize the pump or block the injector solid, those parts usually need replacing rather than just cleaning we'll confirm which after inspection.
Yes, and this needs sorting quickly misfuelling the AdBlue tank with diesel, water, or the wrong concentration fluid can damage the pump, heater and injector if it's run through the system. We drain and flush the tank and lines, inspect the pump and injector for damage, and replace anything the contamination has affected before refilling with correct, certified AdBlue.
Physically stripping out the tank, pump, lines and injector is something we can do on vehicles used exclusively off-road motorsport builds, plant machinery, or similar where the weight and space saving genuinely matters and the vehicle isn't going back on public roads. It always has to go alongside a software change so the ECU stops expecting the system to be there, otherwise you'll be left with permanent fault codes and limp mode. For anything staying road-legal, we wouldn't recommend or carry out physical removal.
No removing or disabling the urea/SCR system on a road-going vehicle takes it outside its type-approved emissions standard and breaches UK road traffic and environmental regulations, and it's a recognised MOT fail point. It's only legal for vehicles or equipment used exclusively off public roads. We check the vehicle's use before any removal work and push for a proper repair wherever the vehicle needs to stay on the road.
Yes once the tank, pump and lines are out, the fuel filler venting, wiring connectors, and any bracketry that supported the system need to be properly capped, blanked or removed so there's nothing left dangling, chafing, or open to the elements. We tidy the loom and secure or remove redundant connectors as part of the job rather than just pulling the parts and leaving loose ends.
Used or contaminated AdBlue and the components we replace are removed from site and disposed of through proper waste channels rather than left with you or poured away it's a mildly corrosive fluid to some metals and isn't something to tip down a drain. You don't need to arrange anything separately; it's handled as part of the job.
It depends on how far the contamination or crystallisation has spread. A tank flush with an otherwise healthy pump and injector is at the lower end; a full strip-out with pump, injector and heater replacement due to seized or damaged parts costs more.
